Tourism Sector in Lebanon expected to generate 4.3 Billion US$ in 2012
The contribution of the tourism sector in Lebanon for the year 2012 should represent 10% of the G.D.P., i.e. around 4.3 Billions $ according to the World Travel and Tourism Council – WTTC.
This would translate into securing around 129’500 jobs i.e. 9.5% of total Lebanese man power with an increase of respectively 4.5% and 3% compared to 2011.
Moreover, the activity of travel and tourism concerns and impacts all economical sectors to such extend that it helps generate 15.5 Billions $, representing 35.5% of the G.D.P.
The WTTC also foresees a general annual increase of the global travel and tourism sector by 3.2% in real terms between 2012 and 2022 compared to 4.2% in the Middle East and 4.1% worldwide for the same period.
